Bee swarm attacks Peoria neighborhood
by Associated Press (February 22nd, 2012 @ 10:22am)
PEORIA, Ariz. -- Angry bees stung two teenagers and a firefighter in a Peoria neighborhood. KTVK-TV reports the teens were walking by a home near 71st and Peoria Avenues Tuesday when they were suddenly surrounded by bees.
Seventeen-year-old Latroy Campbell says he was stung on the arm, leg, face and eye.
One firefighter was stung through his protective gear.
The fire department used foam to kill the bees.
A Peoria Fire Department representative says firefighters found at least two hives that they believe belong to a homeowner who is an amateur beekeeper.
